Tuhon Gaudiosa Sarno Ruby, daughter of Takyo Garcia and Teofilla Garcia, was born in Cebu City, Luzon Philippines, in 1944. Tuhon attended Columbian College in Alongapo Sambalas, Philippines. Due to a very hard upbringing and violent assaults in the Philippines, young Gaudiosa began studying martial arts vowing never to be a victim again. After years of studying several styles of martial arts she came to the United States. She is credited by the  Consulate General of the Philippines, Alfredo C. Lanuza, for introducing, practicing, and establishing the Philippine Martial Art of Comjuka in the United States.

Tuhon Ruby now resides in El Paso, Texas with her husband Punong Guro Gary Ruby  where she founded the Comjuka-Kali Systems and later established the Filipino Martial Arts Hall of Fame. Tuhon and Punong Guro Gary have a daughter and two sons, Miriam, Aaron, and Samuel, respectively. Guro Sammy is the youngest of the three children and has established himself as an accomplished and very proficient practitioner and instructor in Comjuka-Kali Systems and has earned the title as Prince of Comjuka-Kali Systems due to the years of tutelage under his mother, Tuhon Gaudiosa Ruby.
